How to Use a Honing Steel Rod

Honing a knife on a honing steel rod is incredibly easy! Stand the tool on a solid surface while grabbing the handle at the top of the diamond honing rod. Position the knife at about a 22-degree angle to the rod. Pull the knife across the rod, ensuring that you start at the part closest to the blade and end at the tip. Repeat four to five times on each side. Finally, wash the sharpened knife. You can also hone a scissor’s blade with this durable rod.
